Clyde, was born on the 27th October 2006 and came home to live with Marie Claire in early 2007. Clyde was bred by Jersey Resident Fiona Officer who owns the EERI affix. Fiona breeds extremely well balanced puppies who are well socialised from a very early age.  He was named after the river Clyde in Scotland and lives in Jersey with me and Luciano.

‘Wee Clyde’ came home with a bang, terrorising poor Ella with the constant squeaking of his toys. However the two of them were inseparable, and loved nothing more than curling up together on the sofa under a warm blanket or charging along the sand dunes chasing rabbits.

Clyde is a very loving whippet who greets you by jumping into your arms when you come home, he then loves a snuggle on the sofa with you before demanding a walk.

Being a whippet Clyde loves running and could happily spend hours on the beach chasing after his ball, or seaweed! In the summer he likes to cool off with a dip in the sea. I have raced Clyde at our local Whippet racing club on a few occasions however he isn’t keen on the lure. He will run like the wind to chase it, and then stop dead in his tracks, turn around and race the other way.

Clyde was shown very lightly as a puppy mainly due to my other handling commitments, however when he was shown he did well. He is a slow maturing dog but in 2008 he has come into his own and has done well in both Open and Championships shows in Jersey. The highlight of 2008 was Clyde qualifying for Crufts at the City of Birmingham Show under Liz Cartilage.  He was also qualified for the Jersey Kennel Club Super match in December 2008.
