Say hello to Sasha!!

Sasha is a Japanese Shiba Inu, Tim wanted a dog of his own (something somewhat less hairy than an Afghan Hound!!) and he had fallen in love with this breed after seeing some at a show and even more so when he researched them to see what they were like to live with.

One day while reading the Shiba4U list there was information posted about a girl who at 9yrs old was facing a winter in breed rescue kennels. A marriage break up had left Sasha homeless and after 6 months no one had picked her, winter was coming and Sasha had been a house dog all her life so the rescue officer had put out another plea for a home for her.

Tim and I talked about it and realised that Sasha had to come and live with Tim, so on 2nd of November 2007, Sasha came home. She is an absolute sweetheart and we are looking forward to many many years with her.

Update - 16th July 2009. It is with incredible sadness that we said goodbye to our beautiful little girl this morning. After the onset of a pyrometra, and the subsequent operation proved just to much for her as she had a heart murmer anyway. She died at home, we were with her, and despite attempts to resusitate it was to no avail.

She was the biggest little character, we will miss our daily washes, her bringing us toys we are not allowed to touch as we come home, and everything else that made her so special to us. We only had her for 20 months, but she stole our hearts completely.

Run free and well at the Bridge Sasha, I will see you there soon, and I expect a severe washing will ensue. Daddy will be along much later, but we will save a toy for him ok.
