I am Nikki’s Mum and therefore the one who started this whole thing, I have had Afghans since the 60's having been captured by the beauty of this unique breed. Things have changed a lot in the last 40 odd years but one thing remains, I love Afghan Hounds.
I have had various breeds over the years including Afghans, American Cocker Spaniels (including importing the first chocolates into the UK) Papillion's and Miniature Pinschers. Sadly my last Min-Pin, who descended from my bloodlines and believed she was a ‘sawn off Doberman’ left me in July. She may have been a little dog, but she leaves a huge space in my life and I miss her very much.
I cannot attend so many shows these days due to other commitments, however I have become a lot more involved in judging.
I now award Challenge Certificates in three breeds, Afghans, Americans and Min-Pins as well as doing Open shows Groups and Best In Shows.
I have been privileged to have judged in many different countries and this has been truly a wonderful experience.
In March 2006 I judged the Afghan Hound Club Of Victoria Specialty in Melbourne, Australia. I had a wonderful entry and would like to thank everyone who entered and all those people who made us feel very welcome. Please click HERE to see pictures and full results from this show.
For my next appointment I am judging dogs at the UK's parent club show, the Afghan Hound Association, in May 2009. I am very much looking forward to this as have purposely not judged the breed in the UK at Championship show level since 2000.
