Our Story

Nikki grew up around Afghan Hounds and when her mothers interest in other breeds meant they no longer had these beautiful animals to show she lost interest in attending dog shows. Then in 1991 Nikki's mother came back after judging a breed club show raving about a puppy that she had given best puppy too, after thinking about it Nikki decided to go to a show and have a look at the Afghans, fatal mistake but one she is very glad she made!

A couple of months and lots of looking later the photo above arrived of a 9 week old puppy called 'the big red bitch'.

She was the last but one left from the litter and no one had chosen her. Nikki knew why and a couple of months later Tasha came home, you see that was just how it was meant to be.

This four month old puppy walked into Nikki & Linda's lives and hearts and changed their lives forever.

Granddaughter of a very famous (although they did not know at the time) dog, the late great 'Taco' Am.Ch Pahlavi's Puttin' on the Ritz, Tasha (Ch. Tejas Sahuara) gave us a whirlwind ride, a multiple Best Puppy winner she ended '92 as joint top puppy in breed.

It was arranged to mate Tasha by AI to a beautiful Swiss dog SBIS Multi Champion Dali Daruma el Aramis, a Taco son, sadly they never had the chance. On August the 25th '97 Nikki held her beautiful Tasha in her arms as she slipped away from her. She misses her more each day but is eternally grateful to have had her with her for the those almost six years.

As short as the time was, I have been blessed to share my life with this Affie Angel. She lives on Nikki's heart and mind and waits for the day when they will see her at the Rainbow Bridge and once more hold her in her arms

Heidi and Iren said that it must have been meant for this little boy to be left and that Nikki had to have him, so after some soul searching he came to the UK, the son Tasha never had the chance to have. After six months quarantine Zazz came out on March 24th '98, and so the dream continued........

And So………….. Dali had fathered a litter born April 13th that year, all the litter had gone to their new homes, except one dog puppy. This dog was to have returned to Hungary with the owner of the dam of the litter, but due to circumstances he was unable to take him.
